Our approach
At Peter House, we focus on positive outcomes and developing the skills and confidence needed to move towards independent living. We believe in taking positive risks which harness the potential and individual preferences of each person, ensuring that the people we support are encouraged to set goals, make progress, and be valued and active members of their local community.
Our team is there to support with everything from learning skills such as self-care, cooking and cleaning, to supporting people to enjoy their local community, attend college and much more. We have a mini-bus which is used for days out and off-site activities.
Our dedicated activities coordinator works with the people supported at Peter House to offer a range of activities to meet everyone’s needs and preferences – from crafts and cooking to exercise sessions.
Over the years, we’ve built a great relationship with the team at Willow Park resource centre, enabling the people we support to access sensory and hydrotherapy space, as well as workshops such as music & movement, drama, arts & crafts, health & wellbeing, computers, cooking and much more. We’ve also established links with local colleges for those wishing to access college courses.
