What does the PBS Support Worker job involve?
Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is about working in partnership with people, treating them with dignity and respect and understanding what behaviours tell us so that the person’s needs can be met in better ways.
Positive Behaviour Support is an approach that puts the person at the centre to make sure that systems and care plans meet their needs and help them to thrive. The nature of the role requires the postholder to demonstrate active listening and the ability to employ positive, calm and clear communication.
The PBS Support Worker will be responsible for ensuring that current guidance is adhered to, including risk assessments, support plans, and PBS plans and other forms of behaviour assessment/observation and intervention management as indicated by the PBS Advisor. The post holder will also be required to ensure that all requested/required documentation is completed and returned and to work with the PBS practitioner and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach.
